This year’s Creamfields has finally been given the go ahead after being granted a licence by a local council.
The annual dance extravaganza had met with opposition form local residents over its plans to stage the event at a new site in Cheshire.
However, last night members of Halton Council granted the license despite arguments from over 100 local residents at the meeting.
Festival organiser James King said that he would take residents concern into account and that he hoped the festival would be good for the area.
The festival has this year moved to the new site at the Daresbury Estate in Halton Borough near Warrington having previously been staged at Speke.
Headliners for 2006 include The Prodigy, The Zutons, Goldfrapp and Gnarls Barkley.
