Greenday have announced details of their long awaited album ‘American Idiot’, the bands first in four years.
The follow-up to 2000’s ‘Warning’ was produced with Rob Cavallo, and is expected for release in September, coinciding with the bands festival appearances at the Carling Weekend in Reading And Leeds.
The album will be preceded by a single, scheduled for release on September 5. The single has not yet been confirmed.
"We've got about thirty-five songs we're going to record," frontman Billie Joe Armstrong explained to Rolling Stone earlier in the year. "It's a lot of material. We're trying to get one theme throughout the album, because we're in the album business, not in the business of making singles."
