The hotly tipped and frankly brilliant Les Incompetents have been forced to pull out of their Wireless performance today after front man Billy Bell was attacked in London last night.
While details are still sketchy as to what happened in the attack the remaining band members have confirmed that Bell is in hospital.
A post on their Myspace profile reads: “We're all still quite in the dark about the situation but what we know is that whilst Billy was on his way back from the Barfly last night (truly one of the most enjoyable gigs we've ever played - thanks guys) some **** attacked him.”
“As far as I know, he got punched, his head hit the pavement hard and he is now unconscious in hosplital. There is a serious chance he may have fractured his skull.”
More news on Bell’s condition is expected shortly however the rest of the band decided not to play the Wireless show because “it would be completely disrespectful and wrong to even think about trying to play.”
Gigwise offers its best wishes to Billy and hopes he gets well soon.
