It seems that top ten records and unabated adulation from Radio 1 listeners have finally taken their toll on The Kooks.
Bouffant haired frontman Luke Pritchard believes that together with the likes of Mystery Jets and Jamie T, his band could eclipse the mid-nineties glory days for guitar music.
He blathered to the NME: “"I think what we're all doing could surpass Britpop because the musicians that we know seem to be up for anything. It's that whole non-cliqueiness thing. If you ask them to come and have a jam with you, they're gonna do it.
"So that's what we're gonna do, it's gonna be great."
Yeah right, Luke.
