John Stammers is a singer songwriter, a term slowly taking over from Pop as the dirtiest word in music. Luckily Stammers owes more to Conor Oberst than he does James Blunt. ‘The Fridge’ is a melodic, laid back finger plucked tune that has a blissful aura about it perfect for late Summer nights. With vocals so gentle you can barely hear the words, it’s a metaphoric story about family life and goes to show that those who have everything are not necessarily the richest. This may to be too twee for some of you but for others it’s just beautiful.
