Muse are the definition of the ‘Marmite’ band. You either love them or hate them. To those who dislike Matt Bellamy et al they are a pompous, pretentious waste of space. Well Muse haters ‘Supermassive Black Hole’ isn’t going to be your Muse epiphany. Starting with a riff sleazier than Gary Glitters seduction technique the track builds into an electro falsetto masterpiece. Sounding like Prince fronting a more glam DFA 1979 ‘Super Massive Black Hole’ shows the versatility of Muse’s talent. For those who can’t wait for the forthcoming album ‘Black Holes and Revelations’ this is a tantalising taste of things to come.
