Wolfmother - 'Woman' (Modular) Released 10/07/06

To fully sample in the freak out rock’n’roll trip that is Wolfmother, one would have to hear their debut album, and even though hearing their new single ‘Woman’ on its own is surely going to get the blood pumping with its mind bending acidic-rock message, it’s like taking away a cog from a well oiled machine. Might look good on its own, but put it back in its place, and you have a masterpiece. Big loud guitars and organs that will punch you through the time space continuum back to the late sixties and early seventies, filling in the gaps where bands of old left holes. Although sounding well above their years musically, don’t be expecting some subliminal messages in the lyrics ‘She's a woman, you know what I mean, You better listen, listen to me, She's gonna set you free oh oh yeah....’, they are just a band looking to trip you and rock you the **** out. Brilliant is an understatement.
