Snow Patrol have been forced to cancel their current American tour over singer Gary Lightbody’s crocked voice.
The frontman has been told he can’t sing until mid-July at the earliest after two polypoid lesions were found on his vocal chords, so the British band have had to scrap plans to return to their US dates after cancelling three gigs at the start of the month.
A spokesperson explains, “After seeing his throat specialist on Thursday, Gary Lightbody has been instructed not to sing again until mid-July. Therefore, all the sold out US summer tour dates have been postponed.
However, Snow Patrol have promised to return to the States in the Autumn to honour the cancelled gigs.
The spokesperson adds, “The band are rescheduling all dates, and the shows will take place between September 6th-30th. The new run will also include stops in San Diego and Las Vegas. Snow Patrol truly regret any inconvenience this causes their fans, and can't wait to see everyone in the Fall."
