    Lordi: Finnish People Are Stupid

Lordi front man Mr Lordi has slammed his fellow Finns for hailing the band as the Anti-Christ before turning them into national heroes after their Eurovision win.

The band, infamous for their over the top monster outfits, were previously shunned in the homeland and labelled as Satanists.

Mr Lordi hit out according pr-inside.com, saying: "Being a hero is easy, you just have to win the Eurovision Song Contest apparently. Until a few weeks ago the whole nation was against us totally - they did not want us to represent Finland!”

"They claimed we were Satan worshippers. It didn't matter how hard we tried to explain that we had nothing to do with Satan, they put their fingers in their ears and went 'Nananana' - they said we were bad for the children.”

But now the country is going Lordi mad but the band don’t exactly get the sudden turn around. "Now all the magazines in Finland are printing Lordi masks for children! There's not much logic going on inside. But let's face it, people are stupid," Mr Lordi raged..

    • It’s true: many here were *really afraid* what Lordi’s apearance would do to the image of Finland... - WHAT IMAGE..?!? ...and does their song title ”Devil is a Loser” and it’s lyrics sound like worshipping..? Us northern metal fans & the Laplanders however never lost faith in them... and obviously most in Europe also thought it was about time for the Eurovision Song Contest to receive a hefty wake-up kick in the ****..! ROCK ON LORDI..!!!

    • I bet Lordi has never said that the whole nation was against them. For heavens sake, we VOTED him for the ESC, he got almost 50% of all the votes and Lordi knows that. He could never, knowing that, assume that the whole nation has been been against them at any point. The person who wrote that, obviously did not know how the songs for the ESC are selected here... and tried to make us believe Lordi said that...but failed. Lordi could not have said that, knowing the system here.

    • He never said ”the whole nation”. He said: ”...there were many calling us satan worshippers. Where are those people now?”
