Legendary keyboardist Billy Preston has died at the age of 59.
The ivory tinkler performed on The Beatles’ album ‘Let It Be’ as well as The Rolling Stones’ ‘Exile On Main Street’ during his colourful career.
Kidney failure in November last year left him in a coma and was taken to hospital on Saturday as his condition deteriorated.
Preston had also worked with the likes of Bob Dylan and Sly & The Family Stone and had a string of solo hits in the seventies with tracks like ‘With You I'm Born Again’ and ‘Nothing From Nothing.’
He also wrote the hit song ‘You’re Beautiful’ for Joe Cocker.
