The Libertines’ Gary Powell will join The New York Dolls on stage when they play at the Meltdown Festival.
The newly reformed punk band play at the event on June 18 at London's Royal Festival Hall.
"(Singer) David Johansen was looking for a drummer, I got the call from our booking agent and was asked if I'd like to perform with The New York Dolls!” explained Powell to NME. “What sort of a question is that? Of course I'd like to do it!"
He added: "The New York Dolls brought punk sensibilities to music before The Sex Pistols or The Clash had even started. To be able play songs like 'Jet Boy', 'Personality Crisis' and 'Weekdays' would be a dream come true."
The Libertines will support Morrissey on one of his dates at the event, though it has yet to be confirmed.
