    The Open's Split Not So Amicable

    Gigwise has been informed that the split of Liverpool based five piece The Open may not have been as amicable as they have made out.

    They announced the split over the weekend saying they had “no excuses” and “no regrets” about their career which bought the world two albums.

    However, a source close to the band tells a very different story of the split involving band fights and members being left in France.

    The band were recently touring across the channel and our source tells us that things came to a head during the jaunt.

    It resulted in a bust up that involved several of the quintet being pulled off each other and then one unnamed member being left behind in the country on his own as the others returned home.

    • this is jim of the open. these stories are pathetic. have you got nothing better to write about? nothing of the sort happened , sure there was a disagreement but reports of band members being seperated are greatly confused with another fight that happened the same evening. whatever your ”source” may say this is from the horses mouth, the band had no fight and the band was split for musical differences. no fighting, just a natural ending. this ”source” was clearly not pres

    • also, i cannot believe anyone would be arsed even thinking about this. what a pathetic news story. we are all fine with this split, which was a chunk of our lives (well spent) and not yours so just get onto the next fad. goodnight and goodbye. jim
