Radiohead have denied that they performed a song especially for Tory leader David Cameron.
Cameron is famously an outspoken fan of Radiohead, seemingly in a bid to appeal to music fans and a younger demographic.
Speaking on Desert Island Discs at the weekend, Cameron boasted that the Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood played ‘Fake Plastic Trees’ at The Big Ask gig at London’s KOKO after he requested it.
Cameron, who was present at the show, told the radio show: I sent this rather sad letter saying I'd love to come to the concert, thank you for asking. PS please play this, my favourite song - and he did."
But speaking to The Independent, a spokesperson for the band said the song choice was nothing to do with Cameron, writing: "The set list was chosen to reflect the fact that it was just Thom and Jonny playing and the choice of songs was what they wanted to play - nothing to do with any special requests."
