Embrace - 'World At Your Feet' (Independiente) Released 05/06/06

What has England done as a nation to deserve this? Embrace doing the official World Cup song? Absolute bloody madness we say. Right, let’s compose ourselves a minute…  okay the tune itself isn’t too bad by Embrace’s nominal standards, but it’s not a rousing world cup anthem in any shape or form - there’s no sign of a catchy chorus, no hook, Danny Mac sounds vapid, indifferent, even vacuous. ****ing hell, if the players gave this much passion we’d be out in the group stages. Worse, there’s not even any references to football except the veiled one in the title, who cares about “stars in the sky” we ask you? Awful.
