Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos has launched a withering attack on “a bunch of Thatcherite c**ts”. No, he’s not talking about James Blunt fans, he’s morally outraged by ticket touts.
The Scottish singer can’t stand the fact touts deprive good, honest punters from paying face value for their Festival and gig tickets – and he’s not afraid to say so.
He rants, “These people are essentially a group of organised criminals. They're a bunch of c**ts. They're destroying what should be a really pleasurable and affordable experience for ordinary people.
”Festivals are great events and these people are creaming something off for themselves. These people are the antithesis of rock 'n' roll - they're the nastiest form of petty, Thatcherite capitalists. "If you're into rock 'n' roll, into music, they're the opposite of who you want to be."
Next week Alex takes on the arms industry....
