Singer-turned-screenwriter Nick Cave has got the go-ahead for his second film, The Death Of A Ladies Man.
The film, about a sex addicted salesman, will be directed by John Hillcoat, who helmed Cave’s debut, gruesome Western The Proposition.
Ray Winstone, who also starred in The Proposition, will play the lead character – a beauty product salesman, who travels the south coast of England preying on lonely women.
The “darkly comic” film was announced at the current Cannes Film Festival by Kudos Pictures’ Paul Webster, who gushed to the Hollywood Reporter, "Nick Cave and John Hillcoat are among the freshest, most distinctive voices in cinema today."
The film will start shooting in September.
