Dire Straits star Mark Knopfler is suing a woman over a road crash that left him injured and out of action for seven months.
The guitarist was knocked off his motorbike by motorist Monica Beltran in central London in 2003.
25-year-old Beltran was convicted of careless driving in the incident and in correlation with another false passport offence was deported back to her home country of Ecuador after a fifteen month jail term.
Now, as contactmusic reports, Knopfler is seeking £300,000 in damages for the accident which left him with a broken collarbone, shoulder and several ribs.
Knopfler had to cancel his world tour as a result of his injuries.
