Liverpool FC To Release Johnny Cash Track

The Liverpool football team are set to release their own version of Johnny Cash’s ‘Ring of Fire’ as their FA Cup song.

The club have teamed up with Ian McCulloch of Echo & The Bunnymen to record the song before this weekend’s showpiece final.

Ian Gordon of Oxegen Music told the Liverpool Echo: "It's a song that means so much to Liverpool fans and sounds great on the terraces. Ian was keen to get involved as he's a fanatical Liverpool fan and has had a season ticket since he was a kid."

The song has become popular among fans on the terraces during the clubs Champions League exploits.

The song will raise money for the Marina Daglish Appeal and will be available for download via the club’s official site on May 14.

    • I heard it at the Aston Villa Game last Sat! Its pretty good! Although they did play it about ten times! They recorded the crowd singing it as well for the cd so my voice will be on disc for ever (Along with a lot of people)
