Say what you like about the current crop of indie bands they’ve certainly produced plenty of infectious, even-the-milkmen’s- whistling-it etc pop songs between them. Here, young East London pretenders to the throne Boy Kill Boy stake their early claim to such heights after a couple of low key previous releases (including this song on Fierce Panda last year). ‘Suzie’ begins with a melodic riff similar to that which graced Hard-Fi’s ‘Hard To Beat’ and this song almost equals that track’s glorious, infectious appeal. If you haven’t yet heard it be warned that you will be singing these words: “Count down….count down…..count down to the disappoint!” which form the chorus, to yourself in the shower before long.
