Legendary Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has been airlifted to hospital in New Zealand with a serious head-injury.
The 62-year-old star injured himself after he slipped and fell as he and bandmate Ron Wood attempted to climb a palm tree in Fiji, where he was enjoying a break from the Stones’ current world tour.
Richards was flown from the Wakaya Club to the Suva Private Hospital on Thursday, where he was treated for his injuries.
According to local press reports, Richards was then transferred to Auckland's Ascot Hospital, where his wife Patti Hansen remains by his bedside.
