Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are looking to release their second album by the end of the year.
The band have already finished writing all the songs for the follow up to their much lauded eponymous debut and have road tested some tracks while on tour this year.
Explaining why the band are keeping an eye on the release date of the album, guitarist Lee Sargent tells billboard: "We're holding on to this record for a bunch of reasons.
"It's not a matter of creative control. It's become pretty clear that we'll always have that. We would just like to maintain our release schedule (and) decide what we want put out there (or) not."
Amazingly despite being signed in Europe, the band are still without a deal Stateside. Sargent said “It remains to be seen” whether they’ll still remain unsigned.
