Demeter – 'Addict' (Post Modern) Released 24/04/06

Singing about love as an addiction is surely not going to impress anyone for originality of thought.  However, the very electro pop 'Addict' overcomes this to be strangely likeable.  Much of its charm lies with the vocals of singer Anna Mercedes, who posses a good pop voice, similar to Kylie and indeed this could pass one for one her more quirky moments, or perhaps more obviously Garbage, whose desire to make pop music for the discerning punter Demeter obviously share.  The two extra tracks are not bad at all as well particularly 'Under Your Spell' which adds some Portishead to the Kylie sound.
