Test Icicles guitarist Rory Atwell has revealed that the main reason the band chose to do one last UK tour was for the money.
The trio play their last ever dates this week and Atwell says that they are distinctly low on cash.
Speaking about the tour he told the Metro: “It’s a bit of a weird one really. We’re all skint, so I mean we could do with the money, that is one of the main reasons.”
He did add however that the dates were also for the fans: “The other reason was we figured everyone was kind of really gutted that we’d split up.”
Atwell, who is currently recording his own solo material, also confirmed rumours that the band weren’t entirely happy with their one and only album ‘For Screen Purposes Only’.
He said: “I think it’s more of a case of it’s not exactly what we wanted to do, it’s not what each member would have done if they were doing it by themselves.”
“Like there were certain parts of songs that I wasn’t really that into and there were certain songs that I thought were really quite good. But, on the, I thought what we were doing was pretty worthwhile.”
