Klaxons have been described as "acid-rave sci-fi punk-funk". They are one of the key bands in the 'New Rave' movement. Although the accessible side of their sound shows the influence of the art rock explosion of the modern day, they draw upon some less common influences, notably the rave culture of the 1990s, which they appropriate and redefine, often with a sense of irony. This is most evident in their cover version of the novelty rave hit, 'The Bouncer'. They also have a taste for the supernatural and magic-realist, as evidenced by songs names such as 'Atlantis To Interzone' and 'Gravity's Rainbow’.

The band are fast gaining themselves a reputation, with electric live appearances and songs as loud and lively as the neon clothes they wear. ‘Gravity’s Rainbow’ was released in April 2006. The bands debut album is due for release later in 2006; it is rumoured to be produced by legendary DJ Erol Alkan as well as James Ford who has worked with Mystery Jets and Test Icicles.

Whether the band are anything other than a fashionistas dream remains to be seen, however the future does look bright for Klaxons.
