    Updated: D-12 Rapper Murdered In Detroit

    US rapper Proof, a member of Eminem’s D-12 crew, has been shot and killed at a bar in Detroit.

    According to reports Proof, real name Deshaun Holton, was one of two men shot at an after hours club on the cities Eight Mile Road in the early hours of the this morning.

    The second man shot, currently unnamed by the Police, is critically ill in hsopital.

    A spokesperson form D-12’s label Interscope has confirmed that earlier rumours suggesting fellow D-12 rapper Bizarre was also involved were false.

    "Contrary to earlier rumors and reports, D-12 member Bizarre was not involved in the incident in Detroit last night," Interscope told Allhiphop.com. "He was at home in Atlanta, Georgia."

    The two men were both shot at the Triple C club at approximately 4:30am. Proof was then taken to the St John Holy Cross hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.

    The police have questioned one witness but are still seeking the perpetrators.

    Proof was a longtime friend of Eminem and was the basis of the character 'Lil Tic' played by Mekhi Phifer in the film '8 Mile'.
