The duo of Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo fought off stiff competition from R&B diva Mary J Blige and U2 with theIr track ‘One’ to remain at number 1.
Elsewhere The Zutons claimed their first ever top ten hit with ‘Why Don’t You Give Me Your Love’ though it was a bad week for indie bands in general.
Franz Ferdinand only managed to reach number 13 with ‘The Fallen/ L. Wells’ while Belle & Sebastian and The Charlatans limped into the top 30.
In the album charts Morrissey became the first act to top the charts since the inclusion of downloads with his new record ‘Ringleader of the Tormentors’.
Goods news was also at hand for The Flaming Lips who went straight in at number 6 with ‘At War With The Mystics’.
