Saint Stephen gives his first sermon from the holy city of Rome then. Much of the attention on the new album has been about Mozza finally finding love, sex and happiness. He’s made similar suggestions before; there was a track on ‘Kill Uncle’ called ‘Found Found Found’ back in ’91? It wasn’t about car keys. But pouring over 'You Have Killed Me's lyrics as we must do they would seem to be about a new man/women, to whom Mozza croons “but I forgive you, I forgive you, always I do forgive you!” showing that he still communicates feelings to significant others in the manner of Kenneth Williams or Uncle Monty from Withnail. Musically this has the same surging guitars, strings and catchiness as much of his solo oeuvre. It’s warm and familiar but not as fresh a lead-off than ‘Irish Blood… ‘. Not a classic but a tasty morsel of a much awaited album.
