Kings Of Leon are planning to go it alone after getting into dispute with their record label over their upcoming single.
The American rockers want to release ‘Milk’, but their record company RCA are refusing to put the song out.
The Kings have refused to cave in though, and are now planning to release the song themselves – complete with their own video about a melancholy extra-terrestrial.
Bassist Jared Followill drawls to the NME, “We thought about releasing 'Milk' as a single, but no one wants us to. So we're trying to think of a video concept. I kind of have a vision of an alien leaving earth, a really sad alien, and if anybody rips that video off, I'll ****ing kill 'em."
In happier news for the big-haired band, they are well on their way to finishing writing the follow-up to their second album 'A-Ha Shake Heartbreak' – and, according to Followill, the Kings are finally hitting their stride.
He says, “We've written a shitload right now. We may go into the studio in November but we're writing so much every day. We've probably got at least seven or eight songs.
“We're really confident and I feel like we write the best song every ****ing day. This is kind of the beginning of what Kings of Leon are to be."
