Pet Shop Boys To Headline Bestival

The Pet Shop Boys have been announced as the headliners of the Saturday night for 2006’s Bestival on the Isle of Wight.

The duo will join a host of other big and little name acts on what looks set to be the usual superbly eclectic Bestival line up.

Other acts on the bill include The Fall, Devendra Banhart, The Stranglers, King Creosote, Amadou & Mariam and Kid Creole and The Coconuts.

There will also be a very liberal sprinkling of new bands appearing with the likes of Klaxons, Jamie T, The Sunshine Underground, The Young Knives and Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly confirmed to play.

The usual line up of top name DJs will also be showing their faces including DJ Yoda, Erol Alkan, Annie Mac and Mary Anne Hobbs.

This year’s event takes place over the weekend of September 8-10 with tickets on sale now.

All Gigwise can say is that 2005’s festival was truly amazing and a brilliant closer to the festival season so hopefully it should be just as good this year.
