Radiohead have revealed that their upcoming tour dates will feature a mix of new songs that are still works in progress.
Speaking from the studio, Thom Yorke said their ‘random’ material is stimulating them the most -- but they’re also worried about how to perform it in the live arena.
The statement from Thom on their official website reads: "To keep things more fun and spontaneous, we will be playing new songs (on their upcoming shows) that are work in progress.
“We will also be releasing music to download when we are excited about it, rather than wait 12 months for a full-blown album release."
Yorke continued: “Some of the random stuff we have at the moment could be the most exciting. We’re trying to figure out how on earth we will be able to play some of it.
"I think we've always worked best when we aren't bothered about making mistakes.
"There's a lot of baggage about the old way of doing things that is hard to get over. All the 'album' crap -- just this level of pressure that is ridiculous. We're just going to do what feels right at the time. Quite into the idea of singles at the moment (that don't get on the radio)."
As previously reported, the band play the following dates:
Copenhagen KB Hall - May 6-7
Amsterdam Heineken Hall - 9-10
Blackpool Empress Ballroom - 12-13
Wolverhampton Civic - 15-16
London Hammersmith Apollo - 18-19
V Festival - August 19-20
Edinburgh Meadowbank Stadium - 22
Dublin Marlay Park - 24
