Having noticed that The Strokes’ New York sound is no longer the barometer of cool, the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s have returned with a great new single which shows they’re more than just a pretty haircut. 'Gold Lion' strips the band down to an acoustic guitar, but, with the help of a few well-placed Karen O whoops, the track soars and roars in all the right places. Should see the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s getting some well-deserved wider exposure on a FM dial near you.
