Kaiser Chiefs have denied rumours in the press that they’re to record the England World Cup Song.
Reports over the weekend claimed that the Kaisers were favourites for the honour with Kasabian and Arctic Monkeys in the running.
But in a statement the band have rubbished reports, saying that they’re concentrating on material for their new album at the moment.
They said: “We're flattered about these rumours regarding the England football team's World Cup song, but there's no truth in them, they are just rumours.
”The only writing we'll be doing in the next few months will be for our next album. We have no plans to write the England football team's World Cup song. Sorry to dispel the myth.”
