Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour stormed to the top of the album charts at the weekend with ‘On An Island.’
The album was Gilmour’s first solo work since 1984 and knocked Corrine Bailey Rae off the top spot.
Elsewhere Jack Johnson dropped a place to number three while the Arctic Monkeys slipped to number 7.
In the singles chart, ex goat herder Chico held on at the top for a second week fending off competition from the likes of Orson and Pussycat Dolls.
Further down the chart, Placebo entered at number 13 with ‘Because I Want You’ and The Rifles debuted at 26 with 'Repeated Offender'.
