More Info: ‘White Russian Galaxy’ is the dynamic opener to ‘Tragedy Rocks’ and represents one of The Crimea’s most immediately infectious songs to date. “I was trying to write about the effects of alcohol on the psyche of young women,” says frontman and songwriter Davey Macmanus. “When I worked in the London parks, there would be twelve-year-old girls drunk in the toilets at two in the afternoon on a school day. Everyday, I would have to throw them out, and they would scream at me. Alcohol is the lowest common denominator in terms of drugs. It’s the easiest to get and therefore the most widely destructive.” | |
