Welsh rap collective Goldie Lookin’ Chain have been dropped by their label Atlantic despite increased sales after Maggot’s appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.

However, the band still plan to release a new single, a reworked version of ‘Maggot At Midnight’, on their very own label called Gold Dust in April.

The group put a brave face on the news, telling the Sun: “We now have artistic freedom to do what we want. We won’t be working under any restraints and won’t have to tone down the act.”

GLC’s debut album ‘Greatest Hits’ sold over 250,000 copies but their follow up ‘Safe As ****’ struggled to reach the 60,000 mark.

A spokesman added: “They are playing the festivals in the summer and are also shooting a film. There are lots of TV and radio projects in the pipeline.”
