Thursday, the New Jersey band that lead the scene which gave us My Chemical Romance, have announced details of a new album and UK tour.

They will release ‘A City By The Light Divided’ on May 1 via Mercury Records and will play seven dates across the country in the summer.

The record was produced by Flaming Lips collaborator Dave Fridmann and will be preceded by the single ‘Counting 5-4-3-2-1’.

Front man Geoff Rickley said of the album and tour: “We are so excited to announce that we will be crossing the Pond for the first time in over a year and a half! We will be heading over to play a bunch of shows for our new record which is finally finished. We've missed being on the road and we are so psyched that we get to head over to your neck of the woods so soon!”

    The tour dates are:

    Oxford, Zodiac – May 26
    Newcastle, Northumbria Uni – 27
    Manchester, Academy 2 – 28
    Glasgow, Garage – 29
    Birmingham, Academy 2 – 30
    Portsmouth, Wedgewood Rooms – 31
London, Electric Ballroom – June 1
