Craig Nicholls has hinted that The Vines may tour the UK this spring when they release their latest album ‘Vision Valley’.
Speaking to The Observer the band were coy on the question of whether they will tour again after Nicholls’ well publicised problems with Aspergers Syndrome.
Manager Andy Kelly said of the touring situation: “The thing we said to them a few months ago is, if they're gonna play live again, they pretty much have to be the best live band in the world. I don't mean that flippantly. If they performed disastrously, it'd be horrible - for them, for everyone around them.”
“But if they were to tour again I worry that it's just gonna go back to how it was. More and more pressure, changes every day, expectations - if they're in Toronto, why can't they do this TV show? So yeah, it's a matter of managing that. It's down to us and his family and the band to keep a lid on everything so he doesn't just go the way he went before.”
When approached on the possibility of a UK tour Hamish Rosser added, “Ooh, wouldn't like to promise it,” but Nicholls however jumped in to add “But we will”.
The Vines release ‘Vision Valley’ on April 3.
