Two people have been seriously injured after a riot broke out at concert featuring British punk bands in California.
The fighting broke out at the British Invasion 2K6 at the National Orange Show Events Centre in San Bernardino after police arrived responding to reports of a stabbing outside the venue according to launch.co.uk.
Fights broke out in the audience said police spokesman Rick Lindsey, forcing the policemen to retreat. When backup arrived the officers went in again and recovered the stabbing victim and another person who had been beaten.
The crowd of 1,500 people then begun throwing rocks and bottles at the police forcing them to call for more backup and respond with tear gas and pepper spray to disperse the throng of people.
As the crowd were moved on they destroyed two police cars and two officers were injured, they also vandalised local business properties.
The all-day concert was scheduled to feature 22 punk rock bands, including G.B.H. and The Adicts.
