Pink Floyd’s Gilmour Offered A Fortune To Tour After Live 8

Legendary Pink Floyd vocalist and guitarist, David Gilmour, has admitted that he was offered a fortune to tour after the band spectacularly reformed to perform at last year’s Live 8 event.

And he insists that promoters were so keen to snap up the artist - that they weren’t bothered whether or not bandmate Roger Waters, who Gilmour has notoriously had a troubled relationship with, was on board. He is quoted on breaking news saying:

"We were offered a lot of money to go on tour. And I did turn it down.”

"The offer was made to tour with a lot of money, and it was with or without Roger.”

That’s sure to get the two back on friendly terms…

    • I am a big Gilmour fan. It does bother me though, when in one side he is supposedly shunning materialism by not touring. But if he did, he wants everyone to know that he could get all that money with or without Roger. Which statement is supposed to impress me?

    • Why bother with the rivalry and agro - I respect the original band for the wonderful music they have penned and the vision they had and for daring to be so different... BUT With bands like ’Off The Wall’ (who just get on with performing the Floyd music at an exceptional level, with light and vison to match any) always touring and accessable to all... I don’t care whether the Floyd get it together or not. For the record I am a true Floyd fan, over 50, and did see them at Liv
