Michael Stipe is set to be joined by a host of stars for a concert urging the withdrawl of American troops from Iraq.
The gig called ‘Bring ‘Em Home Now!’ will take place in New York at the Hammerstein Ballroom on March 20.
The likes of Bright Eyes, Fischerspooner, Rufus Wainwright, Devendra Banhart and Peaches will also be performing on the night.
Proceeds from the night will go to the Veterans For Peace and Iraq Veterans Against The War charity organisations.
Fischerspooner’s Casey Spooner said of the event: "It is impossible not react to the current state of affairs through personal action and artistic production."
“We have been at war for three years. One desperately feels the need for someone to speak some sort of truth, either poetic or factual."
Anti-war protester Cindy Sheehan, whose son Casey was killed in Iraq in 2004, will also give a speech at the event.
