Strange choice for second single off Clap Your Hands’ fine debut LP. ‘In This Home On Ice’ is ok, but its indie drone isn’t a patch on album tracks such as 'Over And Over Again' or 'The Skin Of My Yellow Country Teeth'. Sounding like something off My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless, In This Home features singer Alec Ounsworth at his most mumbling, which is a shame because you miss some great lines like, "The ravaged cabbage drifts on dark red skies" - an image we can all relate to.
