U2 dominated this year’s Grammy Awards scooping five gongs at the event.
The aging rockers went home with best album, best song and rock performance for ‘Sometime You Can’t Make It On Your Own’ and ‘City of Blinding Lights’ won best rock song category.
Bono said while accepting one of the awards: “I don't know what to say; this is really a big, big night for our band."
Elsewhere Mariah Carey only picked up three awards despite having eight nominations, while Kanye West and John Legend also walked home with three.
Chemical Brothers won best dance recording for ‘Galvanise’ and best dance album for ‘Push The Button’ and Gorillaz won best pop collaboration for their work with De La Soul on ‘Feel Good Inc.’
Green Day came home with the record of the year for ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams.’
Surprisingly Coldplay and Franz Ferdinand both came home empty handed.
