Arctic Monkeys sold 60,000 copies of ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’ in just one day yesterday.
Some HMV stores, including in their hometown of Sheffield, opened at midnight on Sunday to cope with the insatiable demand for the album.
The sales mean that the album is well on course for the number one slot and to top the 200,000 sales mark predicted by many.
Some are already predicting that it may be the top selling album of 2006.
