Soul star and voice of chef in South Park Isaac Hayes is in hospital for exhaustion.
His songwriting partner David Porter told Memphis newspaper Commercial Appeal that the 63-year-old “was just overworked” and he is now on the road to recovery.
In the last week the star had performed a string of gigs across America.
Deep-voiced Hayes won an Oscar back in 1972 for his seminal song ‘Shaft’ used on the film of the same name.
