The Strokes were knocked off the top of the UK albums chart after one week this weekend, with drippy balladeer James Blunt capitalising on his many Brit nominations to reclaim the position.
The first chart after the Brits nomination party in the week saw huge sales for Kaiser Chiefs, Hard-Fi, Gorillaz and KT Tunstall, while Editors continued to cash in on the recent promotion push for their album 'The Back Room', moving up to number three a week after the reissued 'Munich' single made the Top 10.
In the singles chart, not much has changed really, the most notable entries into the Top 10 being Richard Ashcroft's 'Break The Night With Colour' at three and the melodic 'Heartbeats' by Jose Gonzalez at nine.
Preston's stay in the Celebrity Big Brother house also brought reward for his band The Ordinary Boys, whose 2005 single 'Boys Will Be Boys' re-entered the charts at number 33 mainly on the strength of downloads.
