Judges of this year’s Brit Awards have been left outraged after Pink Floyd were omitted from the Best Live Act shortlist.
Many of the panel believed that their show-stealing comeback performance at Live 8 deserved to be nominated for the music industry back-patting ceremony.
However, they were told that Pink Floyd could not be nominated because they did not perform in front of a paying audience.
As the Independent reports, one exasperated judge moaned: "It is ridiculous. Pink Floyd's performance was clearly one of the biggest talking points of 2005 in the music world."
The all too predictable list of nominees for the best live act are Oasis (yawn), KT Tunstall (groan), Coldplay, Franz Ferdinand and Kaiser Chiefs.
