It has been confirmed that Paul Weller will perform at this year's Brit Awards along with a host of other popstars, organisers have announced.
The Modfather is due to receive a lifetime achievement honour at the event next month and will close the show with his very first live set for the ceremony.
Other artists appearing at the Brit Awards include Coldplay, James Blunt, Kaiser Chiefs, Kelly Clarkson, KT Tunstall and Kanye West.
Weller has been going in the music business for only 30 years, starting out as frontman for The Jam, then going on to form The Style Council before launching a solo career.
Brit organisers said: "The outstanding contribution award is the highest honour the UK record industry can bestow.
"It is reserved for those whose influence, longevity and creativity put them in the very top ranks of UK artists.
"Paul Weller is an artist who scores on every measure and typifies the range and quality of British music at its best."
The show will be presented by Chris Evans, with organisers set to announce more performing artists at a later date.
