Joaquin Phoenix has followed in the footsteps of Johnny Cash by performing at the Folsom State Prison in California.
The Hollywood megastar clad in trademark Johnny Cash black performed several acoustic renditions including a cover of Cash’s ‘Folsom Prison Blues’.
Inmates also watched the movie ‘Walk the Line’ in which plays the late musical legend.
Phoenix joked with inmates: "I know you guys would probably rather see (movie co-star) Reese (Witherspoon)."
He added: “I don't know if you've noticed, but I've messed up like 40 times, I'm all over the place," reports the BBC.
Cash originally performed at the prison in 1968 and followed the legendary show with a live album.
