Bob Geldof has stood by his decision to be a Tory advisor despite criticism from some quarters.
As we told you yesterday, Sir Bob will team up with David Cameron and his party to offer advise on global poverty policies.
It was a shock to many considering Geldof criticised the Tories in the eighties and had a run in with Margaret Thatcher over the VAT on the Live Aid profits.
However, Geldof told the BBC: "I don't care who I have to go to to try to make this agenda work."
He continued: "I'm not a Labour Party member; I'm not a Tory party member. I've no intention of becoming any of those things.
"I've done this for 20 years. I have an expertise. If I can be of benefit to help shape another party's policy towards this agenda, then I will do it."
Geldof maintained that if the Tories policy is unsatisfactory he will let it be known.
