Maximo Park have revealed that they’ve managed to acquire a new celebrity fan in the form of a Mr R Williams esq.
Speaking to Gigwise recently, front man Paul Smith revealed that Williams joined the hordes of indie kids to check out one of their shows.
Smith said: “He came to see us in Los Angeles, and yes, he was entertained and then he came to see us on Jools Holland and came over and had a chat. He didn’t have to do that – he seems to have a genuine liking for our music – so respect due, Mr Williams!”
And while Smith didn’t reciprocate the love by praising Williams’ own musical output, he did joke that the band wouldn’t exactly turn down an offer of a support slot for the former Take That man.
“We’d have a think!” he said.
